Gun reported stolen from truck

BROOKINGS – A handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle, according to Brookings County Sheriff’s Office. 

The theft was reported at 10:35 a.m. Friday, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.

“The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a 1911 Smith and Wesson 45 automatic pistol with two fully loaded magazines that was stolen from the center console of a Dodge Ram truck sometime between March 1, 2020, to July 25, 2020. The vehicle had been driven to multiple different locations during this time period. The value of the pistol, magazines, and ammunition is $1,000,” Sebring said.
