BROOKINGS – Rezound!, an auditioned community handbell ensemble with members from throughout the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, will be in concert at 7 p.m. Monday, June 25, at First Lutheran Church, 337 Eighth St., Brookings.

The concert is part of the ensemble’s 2018 Midwest tour through Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska.

The nationally acclaimed ensemble has captivated audiences around the country with its engaging style, and the group is excited to be bringing this performance to Brookings.

In addition to a year-round concert schedule in the Kansas City region, Rezound! has enjoyed successful tours throughout the Midwest and has collaborated with area choral groups and other handbell choirs in a variety of concert settings. The ensemble shares the stage with the Kansas City Symphony and Symphony Chorus on their annual Christmas Festival concerts and has entertained fellow musicians at regional and national events of Handbell Musicians of America.

Community involvement is an important aspect of ringing with Rezound! The group presents an annual holiday concert for the Salvation Army’s adult rehabilitation center, works with area church choirs by holding “mini-festival” combined concerts, and has offered several educational programs in metro area schools, giving the students the opportunity to hear the music and ring the bells themselves. Member musicians are also active in the handbell community as clinicians and instructors.

Rezound! members share a passion for creating exceptional music and promoting the art of this versatile instrument. The concert features a wide range of musical styles, from classical and folk to contemporary pop and original compositions. Experience the symphonic sound created as they integrate the unique timbres produced by a variety of handbell instrumentation.
