Harris Rottum, 83, died at his home Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City.
Harris Orlan Rottum, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, was born in Hendricks, Minnesota, on May 13, 1935. He grew up in the Hendricks area until marrying Verna Stuefen on Feb. 5, 1955.
He worked in construction management in various capacities throughout his career in Brookings and Rapid City. Harris’s happiest days were those spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, other family and friends, and watching football.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Verna; six children, Debbie (Gene) Miller, Bruce (Joan) Rottum, Becky Morgan, Cherrie Malone, Pauline (Rick) West and Jason Rottum (fiancé Olga Perez); 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four siblings.
Harris was preceded in death by one son-in-law.
