Hartman “Hart” Erickson, 98, of Arlington, died Sunday, Oct, 1, 2017, at The Neighborhoods at Brookview in Brookings.
A celebration of life service is at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Johnson-Henry Funeral Home in Arlington.
Hart was born on Sept. 11, 1919, in Volga, the son of Almen and Ella Erickson. He married Ruth Leighton of Rutland on April 3, 1947.
He is survived by his children: Kathleen (Flash) Helm of Fairfax, Virginia, Hartman Jr. (Annie) of Burnsville, Minnesota, Bradley (Jennifer) of Brookings, Philip (Frankie) of Arlington, Kristen (Greg) Kirkland of Ashburn, Virginia and William (Marla) of Meridian, Idaho; a sister, Corrine (Babe) Keen of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Dolly Uthe of Madison, LaVetta (Robert) Foster of Brookings, Delores Leighton, of Madison and Sandy Leighton of Madison; 16 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth a brother, Lyle; a sister, Alvina (Sis), a grandson, Joshua Kneip, a sister-in-law and seven brothers-in-law.
