Hawks blank Bulldogs

DE SMET – Bodee Groos ran four times for 52 yards and a pair of touchdowns while also going 2-of-3 for 69 yards and a score through the air as Colman-Egan blanked De Smet 28-0 in a Dakota Valley Conference football matchup that was called early due to weather Friday night.

Keith Crisp picked up 50 yards and a TD on three rushes. Dalton Vohlker had a 42-yard touchdown catch. Kade Groos added a 27-yard reception.

The Bulldogs’ Cade Birkel ran for 46 yards.

Colman-Egan (5-0) plays its final road game of the regular season on Friday, traveling to Rutland to face Oldham-Ramona/Rutland. De Smet (3-3) heads to Elkton-Lake Benton.

• Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan 56, Flandreau 6

FLANDREAU – Dustin Weber ran for 86 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the Seahawks.

Jamin Arend added 67 yards and a TD. Brady Hawkins had a 47-yard scoring toss to Derek Storm.

The Fliers’ Michael Witte went 3-of-6 for 47 yards with a TD toss to Connor LeBrun. He also ran for 20 yards.

Andrew Julson picked up 13 yards on the ground. LeBrun totaled two receptions covering 45 yards.

Nate Kneebone paced the Flandreau defense with five tackles. LeBrun, Braden Peters and Julson contributed three stops apiece.

Flandreau (0-5) plays host to Sioux Falls Christian and BEE (4-1) is host to Canton on Friday.

• Elkton-Lake Benton 40, Estelline 0

ESTELLINE – Blaine Hefti ran for a pair of scores and threw for another to help lead the Elks past the Redmen in the DVC game.

He had TD runs of 1 yards and 6 yards.

Bryson Sik added a 44-yard touchdown catch. Caleb Goertz found the end zone on an 11-yard run.

Estelline finished with 120 yards of offense.

Marcus Hausman had 10 tackles and Jacoby Flegel six.

Elkton-Lake Benton (2-3) plays host to De Smet on Friday. Estelline (0-6) is open next week before taking on Arlington/ Lake Preston on Oct. 6 in Arlington.

• Deubrook Area vs. Oldham-Ramona/Rutland, ppd.

WHITE – The Homecoming game was postponed due to weather with the host Dolphins leading the Raiders 14-8 midway through the second quarter.

The DVC game will resume at approximately 5:15 p.m. Monday.

Next week, Deubrook Area (1-3) heads to Dell Rapids St. Mary and Oldham-Ramona/ Rutland (1-4) plays host to Colman-Egan in Rutland.

CASTLEWOOD – Noah Wiersma ran for three touchdowns as the Warriors (5-0) beat the Cardinals (1-4) in a DVC game that ended at halftime due to weather.

Wiersma totaled 74 yards on four rushes. He had TD runs of 39 and 26 yards in the opening quarter.

Brandon Benike hooked up with Kaden Eng for a 43-yard touchdown in the second. Wiersma’s third score came on a 7-yard scamper.
