Hawks, Dolphins tied for 7th at boys’ B

WATERTOWN – Great Plains Lutheran fired an opening-round 239 Monday and leads by nine strokes at the Class B State Boys’ Golf Tournament at Cattail Crossing.

Platte-Geddes (248), Parker (251), Hamlin (258) and Ipswich (262) round out the top five.

Colman-Egan and Deubrook Area both carded 266s and sit in a tie for seventh.

The Chargers’ Devan Weelborg carded a 4-over-par 76 and sits atop a crowded leaderboard.

GPL’s Nick Hansen, Parker’s Trey Christensen, Platte-Geddes’ Brody Boltjes and Gregory’s JJ Beck are tied for second at 77.

The Panthers’ Noah Fick is sixth following a 78.

The Hawks’ Kade Groos and Aberdeen Chrsitian’s Judah Aderhold are tied for seventh at 79, while Garretson’s Isaiah Mader (80) is in ninth.

Colman-Egan’s Bodee Groos (81) rounds out the top 10.

Chandler Gullickson shot 106 to complete the Hawks’ Day 1 team tally. He’s tied for 103rd. Nate Tolley (121) is tied for 112th.

Nash Colberg paced the Dolphins with an 87 and is tied for 24th. Nick Olson (89) is tied for 33rd and Jack Bandemer (90) is tied for 37th as they rounded out the first-round team score. Luke Urevig (100) is tied for 85th.

Arlington’s Scott Sampson shot 86 and is tied for 22nd, while teammate Trey Ramstad (101) is tied for 87th.
