High school boys basketball: Flandreau falls to Beresford on the road

BERESFORD – Beresford was too much for the Flandreau boys basketball team on Thursday night as the Fliers lost 61-50.

The Watchdogs led 13-6 at the end of the first quarter and then took a 28-17 lead into halftime. The Fliers were able to cut the lead to 39-35 by the end of the third quarter but Beresford outscored Flandreau 22-15 in the final frame.

Paul Parsley led the Fliers with 18 points. Luke Sheppard had 14 points and Alfie Henderson had 12 points. The Watchdogs were led by Tate Vanotterloo with 24 points. Andrew Atwood had 14 points for Beresford.

Flandreau is now 5-6 on the season and plays at Dell Rapids on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
