

High school boys golf: Sioux Valley Cossacks claim second place in Redfield

REDFIELD — The Sioux Valley boys’ golf team finished in second place at the Redfield Invite on Tuesday.
The Cossacks shot a 330 as a team. Watertown came in first with a score of 324. Aberdeen Roncalli came in third (337) and Milbank came in fourth (338). Groton rounded out the top five (340).
Maverick Nelson and Boden Schiller led the way for the Cossacks as they tied for 5th with an 11 over 91. Tate Steffensen and Jack Opitz each shot an 84 and tied for 14th. Patrick Quale tied for 18th with an 85 and Chris Moberg came in 37th and shot a 103.
Aberdeen Roncalli’s Finn Anderson and Watertown’s Brody Torgerson each shot a 79 to lead the way in the individual tournament. Brevin Fliehs of Groton and Jonathan Doboer tied for third with an 80.
Sioux Valley will play in a tournament in Chamberlain on Thursday and the tournament is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
