BRANDON VALLEY — The Brookings Bobcats and Sioux Valley Cossacks competed as part of a 16-team field at the Brandon Valley Cheer and Dance Invitational on Tuesday night.

The Cossacks competitive cheer team finished in third place at the invite while Brookings’ competitive cheer team finished in sixth place.

The Brookings dance team also finished in 12th place during the overall competition.

Next up for both teams is the Brookings Competitive Cheer and Dance Invitational at the Dacotah Bank Center in Brookings on Saturday afternoon.

Competitive cheer

The Cossacks finished in third place with a team score of 258.50 points. Sioux Valley trailed Sioux Falls Jefferson, who had 279 points and Harrisburg, who had 275.50 points. O’Gorman finished in fourth place with 258.00 points and Watertown finished fifth with 245.00 points.

Brookings finished sixth at the invite with a total of 240.00 points.

Dance

The Brookings dance team finished in 12th place with a team total of 211.50. The Bobcats finished eighth with a total of 224 points in hip hop and 12th with a total of 199 in pom.
