High school girls golf: Sioux Valley Cossacks come in fifth at Region tournament

ABERDEEN — The Sioux Valley and Flandreau girls golf teams competed at the Region 1A Golf Tournament at the River’s Bend Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.

Aberdeen Roncalli finished first at the tournament with a team score of 334 while Madison finished second with a score of 335 and Groton Area finished third with a score of 352. Groton Area’s Carly Guthmiller finished first at the tournament with a score of 73 while Madison’s Delilah Maxwell finished second with a score of 76.

Sioux Valley

The Cossacks finished fifth in the tournament with a team score of 360. Caitlyn Cradduck tied for third place in the tournament with Abby Grenhoff of Dell Rapids after shooting a score of 78.

Sioux Valley’s Laryn Stevens and Haylee Bohnet finished tied for 15th place with Madison’s Sienna Maxwell with a score of 90 while Keyra Kruse finished tied with Milbanks Shaylee Schuchard for 27th place with a score of 102. Lillie Noble also finished 30th for the Cossacks with a score of 115.

Flandreau

The Fliers did not have enough golfers to qualify for a team score but Madison Bushkofsky finished tied for seventh with Aberdeen Roncalli’s Grace Seyer with a score of 84. Clara Kelm also competed at the tournament, finishing 29th with a score of 112.
