High school volleyball: Dakota Valley Conference honors 16 Brookings-area players

Sixteen area volleyball players were All-Dakota Valley Conference selections. Colman-Egan, Estelline/Hendricks and Elkton-Lake Benton led the way with three players apiece. Arlington, Deubrook Area and Iroquois/Lake Preston each had two players and Oldham-Ramona/Rutland had one player.

Colman-Egan, Estelline/Hendricks and Elkton-Lake Benton tied for first in the DVC as they each had an 8-1 record in conference play.

Colman-Egan had a 25-5 record and will be the No. 3 seed in the Class B State Tournament, which will begin on Thursday at Rapid City. Seniors Daniela Lee and Lanie Mousel and junior Kaylee Voelker were All-DVC selections for the Hawks. Junior Anna Zwart was an honorable mention. Abigail Dockter was the Coach of the Year.

Elkton-Lake Benton had an overall record of 19-11. The Lady Elks fell to Platte-Geddes in the SoDak 16. Seniors Tevan Erickson and Kylie Ramlo and junior Andrea Renkly were All-Conference selections. Ella Crofutt was an honorable mention. Erickson was the Co-Most Valuable Player with Castlewood’s Presley Knecht.

Estelline/Hendricks had an overall record of 24-6 and the Redhawks fell to ELB in the Region 2A semifinals. Seniors Kenzy Beare and Sadie Johnson and freshman Presley Bury were All-Conference selections. Junior Brooke Johnson was an honorable mention.

Arlington finished tied for fifth in the DVC as the Cardinals had a 4-5 record in conference play. They were 12-20 overall. Senior Harley Johnson and junior Addalyn Steffensen were each All-DVC. Junior Madalynn Bacon was an honorable mention.

Deubrook Area was the other team tied for fifth. The Dolphins went 4-5 in conference play and were 14-15 overall. Senior Delaney Pedersen and junior Zoey Molengraaf were All-Conference selections. Sophomore Matte Bauman was an honorable mention.

Iroquois/Lake Preston finished in seventh in the DVC. The Sharks went 3-6 in the DVC and were 12-15 overall. Seniors Rebecca Bich and Faith Steffensen were All-DVC. Junior Adison Moore was an honorable mention.

ORR came in ninth in the DVC as the Raiders went 2-7 in conference and 11-16 overall. Senior Julia Trygstad was All-Conference and senior Alivia Bickett was an honorable mention.
