WHITE – Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the person who hit a Mazda in White Saturday. They may have been hauling branches at the time, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.

The accident was reported at 7:11 p.m. Saturday and occurred in the 100 block of West Main Street in White, he said.

“It was found that a 2009 Mazda passenger car was parked on the street at 9:30 a.m. and (they) noticed the damage at 7 p.m.,” Sebring said.

“It appears that someone may have been hauling branches down the roadway as there were drag marks and leaves in the roadway, up to where the accident occurred,” he said.

The vehicle received between $500 to $1,000 worth of damage, Sebring added.
