Irene Lund, 92, of Arlington, died peacefully Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington with the Rev. Durk Thompson officiating. Burial is in the Arlington City Cemetery.
Irene Lund was born on December 26, 1924 in Arlington to Arthur and Alma (Weiss) Brose.      
Irene was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington. She was one of six children that grew up on a farm at Four Corners in Kingsbury County.  
She attended rural Spring Lake School No. 1 and graduated from Arlington High School.  Following graduation she worked in Sioux Falls, Seattle, Los Angeles and Aurora, Ill.  
On Nov. 2, 1944 she married Henry Lund at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington.  Henry and Irene farmed southwest of Volga until February 1954, and then moved to a farm near Arlington.  
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington.     
Survivors include two children, son, Gary Lund and daughter Renee (Randy) Larsen, both of Arlington; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister Leona Brose Johnson, several nieces and nephews.   
Those preceding Irene in death are her husband Henry; sisters, Dorothee Pike and Mavis Overgaard and brothers Vernon Brose and Harold, nephew Craig Thompson and nieces Robin Pike and Charon McCoy.
