It was a hot one!

BROOKING – Toasty temperatures didn’t keep crowds away from the Brookings Summer Arts Festival this weekend. Thousands turned out for the 46th annual event in Pioneer Park, and everyone found their own way to beat the heat.

Above, Eric Scites of Faire Wynds Entertainment, from Pomroy, Ohio, breathes fire between shows as his wife, Susan, looks on.

Below, Lecsia Dokken of Brookings and Melody Stettnichs of Volga slice lemons and limes at the KJ Lemonade stand, which stayed busy as the weekend warmed up.

Others kept to the shade as they perused the art booths throughout the park. Andy and Jennifer Johnson of Brookings look at metal flowers created by Katie and Greg Roth of Rustic Prairie, from Sioux Falls. Find more photos from the festival on the Register’s Facebook page and Instagram account.
