Jackrabbit men take 17th

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The South Dakota State men’s golf team shot 925 (317-307-301) and finished 17th in the Missouri Tiger Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at the 7,221-yard, par-72 Old Hawthorne.

The hosts won the event by 11 strokes with a 25-under-par 839 (275-283-281) total.

Kansas State (281-286-283) was second at 850 and Missouri State (282-293-288) ended up third at 863.

Missouri’s Hayden Buckley was medalist with a 54-hole score of 12-under 204 (65-69-70).

Missouri’s Jamie Stewart (70-72-67), UMKC’s McCain Schellhardt (70-72-67) and Illinois State’s Zach Burry (69-70-70) tied for second at 7-under 209.

The Tigers put four players in the top nine.

Jared Nicolls (80-74-71—225) tied for 46th to lead the Jackrabbits. Jacob Otta (80-70-76—226) tied for 49th, Alejandro Perazzo (80-79-75—234) tied for 83rd, Max Donohue (77-86-82—245) finished 100th and Naqiuddin Fuad (83-84-79—246) ended up 101st.

Nineteen teams and 102 individuals competed in the event.

SDSU concludes the regular season at the Hawkeye Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Iowa City, Iowa.
