DES MOINES, Iowa – South Dakota State earned a 2-2 draw Sunday at Drake in a game that saw the teams combine for 35 shots.

Nicole Hatcher and Annie Williams scored for the Jacks (2-4-2), who had 17 total attacks for the day, while Tori Poole notched her first assist of the season.

Maggie Smither played all 110 minutes in goal with 10 saves.

Drake took an early lead off a set piece in the 16th as Kasey Hurt's corner kick found the head of Brooke Salisbury for the score.

Facing a 1-0 deficit, State finished the half with five shots, but didn't break through until 50:20 when Hatcher netted her first goal of the 2017 campaign. Hatcher fired on goal after a pass from Tori Poole, and though it was originally saved by Drake's Haley Morris, Hatcher's shot had enough momentum to knock the keeper back into the goal for an equalizer.

The tie was short-lived, however, as Drake struck back three minutes later on a long ball from Hannah Bormann to Rebecca Rodgers to regain a 2-1 lead.

The flurry of offense continued, though, and State tied it once more in the 62nd on Williams' second goal of the season. Seconds before the goal, DU's Annie Schmitz was given a yellow card at 61:39, and on the ensuing free kick Williams beat the keeper with a shot in the upper half of the net.

Back-and-forth play continued over the final 30 minutes of regulation, but the scoreboard stayed even the rest of the way, including a pair of golden-goal overtime periods.

Game Notes: South Dakota State is now 6-5-1 all-time against the Bulldogs... Maggie Smither posted a career-high 10 saves.
