Jackrabbits tied for 12th at regional

STANFORD, Calif. – After two rounds of the NCAA Stanford Regional, the South Dakota State men’s golf team is tied for 12th.

The Jackrabbits cut 12 strokes off their first round, shooting a 289 Tuesday on the par-70, 6,727-yard Stanford Golf Course for a 36-hole total of 590.

Ninth-ranked Baylor (265) leads the 13-team field at 542. The host Cardinal (278) are second at 549.

SDSU senior Trevor Tobin remains the leader for the Jackrabbits. He shot a 70 with four birdies for a two-round 144 and is tied for 41st.

Classmate Grant Smith picked up his second eagle of the regional and shot a two-over par 72 and is tied for 55th at 147.

Sophomore Alejan-dro Perazzo (74) is tied for 63rd at 149, sophomore Jaxon Lynn (74) is tied for 66th at 151 and freshman Alejandro Restrepo (73) is 73rd at 156.

Oklahoma’s Brad Dalke (64) leads the 75-player field with a 36-hole tally of 129. Stanford’s Maverick McNealy (67) is second at 132.

The final round is today.

The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the finals, to be held May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
