Jacks take 14th at Tiger Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. – South Dakota State shot 914 (310-301-303) to take 14th out of 18 teams at the Tiger Invitational, hosted by Mizzou at the 7,221-yard, par-72 Club at Old Hawthorne on Monday and Tuesday.

The hosts, who are ranked 30th by Golfstat, closed strong to win the event by 18 strokes with a 7-under-par 857 (295-283-279) total. Northern Illinois was second at 11-over 875 (294-295-286).

Mizzou put five players in the top 12, including four in the top six.

The Tigers’ Linus Lilliedahl was medalist with a 5-under 211 (73-70-68) total.

Mizzou’s Hayden Buckley (75-70-67) and Austin Peay’s Erik Hedberg (71-72-69) tied for second at 212.

Alejandro Perazzo paced the Jackrabbits by tying for 31st at 227 (81-70-76). Alejandro Restrepo tied for 39th with a 228 (80-74-74) total.

Grant Smith (75-80-75—230) tied for 51st, Jaxon Lynn (74-79-78—231) tied for 58th and Trevor Tobin (83-78-81—242) tied for 87th.

Competing as an individual, Jacob Otta (77-79-77—233) tied for 66th.

SDSU competes in the Hawkeye Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Iowa City, Iowa.
