BRANDON – Ryan and Reese Jansa, of Harrisburg, won their third consecutive SDGA Adult-Child Championship on Sunday at Brandon Golf Course.

The father/daughter duo carded a 1-over-par 72 for a two-stroke victory.

The Jansas bogeyed the first hole but birdied Nos. 2, 6 and 9.

They bounced back from a tough three-hole stretch – double-bogeys sandwiched around a bogey on No. 10-12 – with birdies at the 14th and 15th and then parred out.

Sioux Falls’ Peter and Shannon McCormick, Rapid City’s Payton and Tanna Phares, and Sioux Falls’ Morgan and Bo Sandness tied for second at 74.

The Jansas shot even-par 72 at Broadland Creek in Huron to win by three strokes a year ago and carded a 2-under 70 for a one-shot win at Hillsview in Pierre in 2019.

It marked the 49th top-two finish for the 48-year-old Ryan in SDGA events, including his 32nd victory. He was the 2020 SDGA Player of the Year.

Reese, who is entering her senior year at Harrisburg, dominated the Class AA Girls’ State High School Tournament in June. She shot 8-under 134 (66-68) at Bakker Crossing in Sioux Falls for an 11-stroke victory over McCormick (72-73—145), a then-senior at O’Gorman.

Reese took the SDGA Sanford Golf Series Championship on Monday at The Country Club of Sioux Falls, winning on the fourth playoff hole after carding a 1-over 73. She topped Masy Mock of Mitchell in the playoff.

McCormick was the 2019 high school champ. The Augustana commit was the 2019 and 2020 SDGA Junior Player of the Year and is the two-time reigning Junior Championship winner.

The Junior Championship is today and Tuesday.
