Jeffrey S. Telkamp, 55, of Volga, passed away May 14, 2019 at his home. 

Memorial services will be held at 5:30 pm Monday, July 15, 2019 at Rude’s Funeral Home in Brookings. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 4:30 pm.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Jeffrey Scott Telkamp was born on April 12, 1964, in Ogden, UT, the son of Marlin and Carol (Hirmer) Telkamp. During his childhood, his family moved to South Dakota. Jeff graduated from Brookings High School in 1982. He then furthered his education at Lake Area Tech where he studied Ag-Business. Jeff was united in marriage to Kelly Manzey in 1983, and they were blessed with a daughter, Nicole. 

He began his career at the Brookings Telephone Company and later worked for Bowes Construction. Jeff was united in marriage to Jackie Sedivy in 1996, and they were blessed with a daughter, Jade. He worked for Land-O-Lakes in Volga for a number of years before finishing his career at AG First Farmers Co-Op in Brookings.

 Jeff was an avid NASCAR and NFL fan. He enjoyed long talks on the phone with his daughters and family. Jeff and Jade frequently went disc golfing at Larson’s Park, where he taught his grandson, Kyle, how to play. Anyone that he ever talked to; he would always say how proud he was of his girls. 

Jeff was a very social and kind person, befriending many people over the four decades he lived in the Brookings and Volga area.

 Jeff is survived by his two daughters, Nicole Telkamp, of Spokane, WA and Jade Telkamp, of Brookings; grandson, Kyle Telkamp, of Spokane, WA; father, Marlin (Gerri) Telkamp, of Watertown; two sisters, Lori (Dennis) Kellar, of Sun City, AZ and Lisa Dillon, of Mulvane, KS; step-father, Ronald “Bud” Crain, of Wichita, KS; two step-sons, John Kirk, of Denver, CO and Mason Kirk, of Irvine, CA, among many nieces and nephews.

 Jeff is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Crain; his grandparents, Glenn and Hariett Telkamp, and Philip and Hazel Hirmer.
