Jets skate past Blizzard, 2-1

JANESVILLE, Wis. – The Rangers dropped their second straight game to the Jets with a 2-1 setback on Saturday in North American Hockey League action.

The home team’s Kip Hoffman scored 6 1/2 minute into the contest before Vince Marino found the back of the net at the 10:54 mark to make it 1-1 heading into the intermission. Josh Boyer set up Marino’s tally.

After a scoreless second, Jordan Steinmetz lit the lamp with 12:23 left in the game for the winning goal as Janesville held a 35-27 edge in shots.

Benjamin Beck stopped 33 Jet shots for the loss in goal.

The Blizzard play host to Austin on Friday at Larson Ice Center.

The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
