Jody Nass was born on September 19, 1969, to James and Maxine (Christianson) Nass in Brookings, South Dakota. After receiving his GED, he attended Lake Area Technical School, focusing his studies on automotive mechanics. Jody also worked at the Bushnell Garage as a bartender.

Jody had many loves in life, including Harley Davidson motorcycles, his dog, and especially baking lefse, sandbakkels, and peanut brittle with his mother. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Jody was someone who naturally wanted to help others, and found great satisfaction in doing so. He could often be found mowing grass and shoveling snow for his neighbors without any expectation of being paid. Although he was often a man of few words, those close to him knew the size of his heart.

Jody is survived by his uncles: Harlan Christianson (Mary Deleeuw), and Donald Nass; aunts: Linda (Rudy) Archuleta and Judy Cunningham; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maxine, and his sister, Laurie.

Memorials may be made the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
