Ainsley Powers is the Junior Kiwanian for September. She is the daughter of Cami and Derrick Powers.
In high school, she is a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council.
Powers is a member of the FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) and has held state positions in this organization. She is also a member of ProStart (culinary and management) where her group won in state competition and participated in the national ProStart competition.
In sports, she participates in cross country and track and has been in All-State and ESD track and cross country meets.
Powers has participated in the Brookings Marathon, Project Joy, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Trunk or Treat, and First Lutheran Church.
She plans to attend South Dakota State University with a major in pharmacy. She will continue her running career.
Abigail Ayres is the Junior Kiwanian for October. She is the daughter of Jill and Larry Ayres.
In high school, she is a member of the National Honor Society and a Presidential Scholar nominee.
In sports, she is the captain of the BHS Girls Soccer team. She also does basketball sideline cheer and participates in many intramural sports.
Ayres is a year-round member of club soccer and is a youth soccer coach. She participates in youth activities at First Lutheran Church.
She plans to go to college and major in education or exercise science. She has been accepted at SDSU.
