Kaylee Johnson, Redhawks in lead

BROOKINGS – Kaylee Johnson and Estelline/Hendricks top the leaderboard following the first round of the Class B State Girls’ Golf Tournament, which began Monday at Edgebrook.

Johnson carded an 80 (37-43) and is tied for first with Bison’s Greta Anderson (44-36).

Johnson made a pair of birdies and three bogeys on the front nine. She had three double-bogeys and a trio of bogeys on the back.

Anderson was even on the back nine following a birdie 2 at the 17th before double-bogeying the 18th.

Miller’s Jayce Pugh is three shots back in third, shooting 83.

Bison’s Allison Kahler (84) sits in fourth, while Burke’s Adisyn Indahl and Andes Central/Dakota Christian’s are tied for fifth at 86.

Bailey Landmark led Deubrook Area’s Day 1 effort, shooting 87. She’s seventh.

Hamlin’s Taylor Koisti and Castlewood’s Hannah Karst both shot 89 and are tied for eighth.

Selby Area’s Jayda Sawinsky and Scotland/Menno’s Rylee Conrad are tied for 10th at 90.

The Redhawks posted a team tally of 268 on Day 1.

The Cardinals of Bison are second at 275.

White River (278) is third and Howard (281) fourth.

The Dolphins carded a 283 and are in fifth.

Rounding out Estelline/Hendricks’ team tally, Jesade Siverson (92) is tied for 16th and Sadie Johnson (96) is tied for 34th. Rachel Hexem (106) is tied for 63rd.

Completing Deubrook’s team score, Abby Olson (97) is tied for 37th and Kamryn Landmark (99) is tied for 45th.

Colman-Egan’s Berkley Groos shot 93 and currently sits in a tie for 20th.

The tourney concludes today.
