BROOKINGS – Kickoff times and the television broadcast schedule for South Dakota State's 2017 football season have been finalized.

Each of the Jackrabbits' first three home games will be played under the lights at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium. As announced earlier, the Aug. 31 season opener and Dairy Drive game against Duquesne is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

SDSU's next two home games, the Sept. 16 Beef Bowl versus Drake and the Oct. 7 Hall of Fame Game against Southern Illinois, are both slated for 6 p.m. starts.

The remainder of the Jackrabbits' home schedule will consist of 2 p.m. kickoffs. SDSU will welcome Northern Iowa to Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium for Hobo Day on Oct. 14. The home slate wraps up a month later as SDSU will seek to retain the Dakota Marker versus North Dakota State on Nov. 4, followed by a Military Appreciation Day matchup with Illinois State on Nov. 11.

The Jackrabbits compiled a 6-1 home record, including a 10-7 victory over Villanova in the second round of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs, during their inaugural season of play at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium in 2016.

Broadcast partner Midco Sports Network will televise five of the Jackrabbits' six home games, starting with the Aug. 31 season opener versus Duquesne. MidcoSN also will televise the in-state rivalry game against South Dakota on Nov. 18 in Vermillion.

SDSU's Oct. 7 conference home opener against Southern Illinois is part of the MVFC TV package – which includes coverage on ESPN3 – as is the Jackrabbits' Oct. 21 matchup at Missouri State.

All but one of SDSU's road games versus Missouri Valley Football Conference opponents are scheduled as afternoon games. The Jackrabbits will open league play Sept. 30 with a 6 p.m. game at Youngstown State. The Oct. 21 game at Missouri State and Nov. 18 contest at South Dakota are both set for 2 p.m., while the Oct. 28 matchup at Western Illinois is slated for 1 p.m.

The Youngstown State and Western Illinois contests are scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN3.

The Jackrabbits' lone nonconference road game, Sept. 9 at Montana State, will kick off at 7 p.m.. That contest is scheduled to be broadcast regionally on SWX-affiliated stations in the Northwest.
