Kingsbury County goes 1-1 at CWL

CLARK – Kingsbury County went 1-1 at the Clark/Willow Lake Triangular on Tuesday, beating Deuel 65-7 and falling 53-28 to the homestanding Cyclones.

The Knights play host to Flandreau, Garretson and Tri-Valley in a quadrangular Friday at 5 p.m. in Arlington.

Both teams won two of the four contested matches.

The Knights’ Alec Dobson picked up a 21-5 technical fall in 4:00 versus Dominic Constant at 132 pounds. Nolan Coughlin pinned Madysen Brewer in 1:17 at 138.

The Cardinals’ Jaxon Quail (106) earned a 15-7 major decision over Ethan Johnson and Dylan Hagberg (126) defeated Tucker Anderson 6-3.

KC’s Dylan Zell (113), Matthew Steffensen (120), Nathaniel Kersting (145), Monte Albrecht (152), Owen Kerkvliet (160), Christian Larsen (170), Gavin Holland (182), Kain Gilligan (220) and Connor Hoffman (285) each won by forfeit.

The Cyclones won eight of the nine contested matches.

Steffensen picked up a 14-6 major decision over Lucas Kannegieter at 120 for the Knights.

Zell (113), Dobson (132), Gilligan (220) and Hoffman (285) each won by forfeit for KC. The Knights were open at 113.
