IRVING, Texas – South Dakota State University 174-pounder David Kocer was honored Wednesday as Big 12 Conference Wrestler of the Week.
A senior from Wagner, Kocer earned the award after defeating 15th-ranked C.J. Brucki, 10-5, in dual action Dec. 8. Kocer, who is ranked ninth by FloWrestling, improved to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in duals in helping the Jackrabbits defeat Central Michigan, 23-15, in a battle between nationally ranked teams. It marks the second time in Kocer’s career that he has been named Big 12 Conference Wrestler of the Week.
SDSU will be off from competition until returning to the mat Dec. 29-30 at the Ken Kraft Midlands in Hoffman Estates, Ill.
