Compliments to our Brookings Swim Club members who hosted a swim meet this past weekend.
It was gratifying to see the use of our facility by young people from Minnesota, Nebraska and from throughout our state from as far as Rapid City.
We have such an outstanding facility that allowed for the water slide and water park to be in use by the public at the same time.
Let’s continue the necessary expense to keep the pool functional.
Yes, the efforts of the swim club parents created a great program for swimming and brought many people to town to use our parks and businesses.
Thanks again to the swim club members as they look forward to hosting the state swim meet here in Brookings the last week of July.
PS: Don’t forget to support the movement for a recreation center in our town that needs to include a swimming pool.
We have not increased our community pool capacity since our high school was built around 1964.
