Lady Bulldogs pull away from Arlington

MADISON – The Lady Bulldogs used a big second half to come out on top against Arlington Tuesday night. Madison had a two point lead heading into halftime and outscored the Cardinals 43-29 in the second half to get the win. 

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Kendra Leighton who had 16 points. Briana Steuerwald had 13 points and seven rebounds. Grace Nelson had 10 points and Morgan Anderson had seven.

Hadley Carlson had a double-double for Arlington with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Makayla Nelson had 10 points and three rebounds. Cecili Carlson and Kasey Pistulka each had five points.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 36.4% from the field and were 5-18 from three. The Cardinals shot 39.6% from the field and were 5-16 from three. Madison outrebounded Arlington 45-37 and forced the Cardinals into 19 turnovers while only having 12 of their own.

The Cardinals will host Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Thursday.

 Hitchcock-Tulare 63, Lake Preston 28

LAKE PRESTON – The Divers dropped to 1-5 after getting blown out by the Lady Patriots.

Hitchcock-Tulare was up 31-17 at halftime and then outscored Lake Preston 25-7 in the third quarter to take control of the game. 

Elizabeth Salmen led the way for the Lady Patriots with 23 points, seven steals, six assists and two blocks. Kaitlyn Rathjen had 12 points and nine rebounds. Kenidee Enander had eight points, eight steals and five assists. Dannyn Peterson had 15 points.

Ashlyn DeKnikler had eight points, nine rebounds and three steals. Marissa Rober had eight points. 

The Divers will host Estelline/Hendricks on Thursday.
