Lady Elks, Dolphins, Cardinals post DVC wins

ELKTON – Elkton-Lake Benton swept Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 25-8, 25-21, 25-14 in a Dakota Valley Conference volleyball match Thursday night.

The Lady Elks’ Emily Miller had 11 kills and a block assist. Aubrey Wirth added nine kills, 2 1/2 blocks (one solo) and five digs.

Hannah Krog totaled seven kills, 1 1/2 blocks (one solo) and nine digs. Kailyn Drietz netted six service aces and came up with six digs.

Julia Drietz dished out 23 set assists and notched 12 digs. Brooklyn Nielsen added 12 digs and Jesse Busselman 10.

The Raiders’ Rylie Aschmeller had seven kills and five digs. Kylie Anderson tallied 18 digs, three kills and an ace.

Alivia Spilde and Julia Trygstad chipped in with four kills apiece, while Khloe Tieman added three to go with 17 set assists.

On Saturday, ELB (14-6, 5-0) faces Deubrook Area in the Chester Challenge and ORR (4-11, 2-4) takes on Freeman Academy/Marion in Marion.

WHITE – The Dolphins defeated the Lady Bulldogs 22-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-9 in a DVC match.

Andrea Vandermeer totaled 14 kills and six service aces. Claire Olsen added 12 kills and Emma Vandermeer 11 to go with 13 digs.

Baylee Holmlund came up with 24 digs and netted six aces.

Macyn Peterson (26) and Ellie Koenig (15) combined for 41 set assists. Peterson also collected 15 digs.

For De Smet, Kennadi Buchholz had nine kills and 10 blocks. Cori Birkel contributed seven kills, three blocks and 19 digs. Reyna Becka came up with 27 digs and Autumn Wilkinson 19 to go with five kills.

Deubrook (13-9, 5-2) takes on Elkton-Lake Benton in the Chester Challenge on Saturday. De Smet (2-15, 0-5) plays at Hamlin on Tuesday.

 Arlington 3, Dell Rapids St. Mary 1

DELL RAPIDS – Arlington beat DRSM 25-16, 23-25, 25-15, 25-17 in a DVC matchup of Cardinals.

Hadley Carlson racked up 21 kills, 22 digs, three aces and a block.

Jennica Weiss added eight kills and two blocks. Jaida DeVries contributed seven kills and four aces.

Grace Parry totaled 32 set assists and eight digs. Kasey Pistulka had 20 digs.

For DRSM (7-11, 1-5), Courtney Brown finished with 11 kills and 19 digs. Addy Gilbert had 11 kills. Ella Hienitz chipped in with 10 kills, 15 set assists and 12 digs. Ella Griffin tallied 12 set assists and 11 digs.

Arlington (9-15, 4-2) faces Sioux Valley in the Chester Challenge on Saturday at noon.

 Castlewood 3, Lake Preston 0

LAKE PRESTON – The Warriors topped the Divers 25-16, 25-13, 25-12 in a nonconference matchup.

Cala Hunter had 12 kills and three aces in the win. Alayna Benika added seven kills and 10 digs.

Layce Kooima dished out 15 set assists, notched 14 digs and recorded a trio of aces

For the home team, Marissa Rober had two kills and seven digs. Brenna Woodcock contributed a pair of kills and two aces. Morgan Curd also tallied a pair of kills.

Ava Malone came up with 13 digs and Annika Nelson added nine to go with two blocks and an ace.

Castlewood (15-2) heads to Hitchcock-Tulare on Tuesday. Lake Preston travels to De Smet on Thursday.
