The Diamonds scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings for the early edge, and then added a single tally in the seventh and two insurance runs in the eighth to hold off Freeman.

In the sixth, Travis Feekes took one for the team in the leadoff spot and moved to second on a Black Sox error. Linn drove in Feekes with a single and advanced to third on Kramer’s base hit. Keaton Grevengoed hit a sac fly to plate Linn to make it 4-0.
