Lee J. Doyle, 56, of Flandreau, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Flandreau. Burial is in Union Cemetery.  Visitation is Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. at Skroch Funeral Chapel with a 4 p.m. prayer service

Lee Joseph Doyle was born Sept. 6, 1960, in Sun Valley, Calif., to Harold and Maxine (Brown) Doyle.  He was their “late miracle” baby and was an only child. Lee graduated from James Monroe High School in North Hills, Calif., in 1978 and North Valley Occupational College shortly thereafter after completing studies in heating and air conditioning technology.

Lee and Amy married on Oct. 20, 2007 in Stanton, Calif., and resided in Mission Hills, Calif., until their relocation to Flandreau in the spring of 2014.

Lee worked in the greater Los Angeles area in HVAC for more than 30 years, and subsequently obtained employment with SDSU in Brookings. Lee was an avid baseball fan, particularly of the San Francisco Giants, the Anaheim Angels, and the Minnesota Twins.  He loved collecting baseball cards, shooting trap, reloading ammo, anything train related, and traveling the globe.

Lee and Amy enjoyed their adventures in Alaska, Chile, Germany, Ireland, and the Czech Republic. Lee loved good food and a good time.

He was a very witty fellow and could usually be found amid any laughter happening in a gathering of relatives or friends.

Lee is survived by his wife, Amy, Flandreau; his two sons, Cole of Los Angeles, and Lucas (Joy), Los Osos, Calif.; two granddaughters; step-children Kimberly (Sadrac) Schoppman, Yucaipa, Calif., and four step-grandchildren; Graham Parkinson, Seoul, South Korea and Quinn Parkinson, San Francisco; his very special aunts and uncles, as well as many cherished cousins in the local area, as well as in California and Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
