Leonard Lewis Stahl, 83, of Sioux Falls, died at home surrounded by family Wednesday, July 19, 2017.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Lutheran Church, 327 S. Dakota Ave., Sioux Falls. Visitation is 2 – 4 p.m. Saturday and a Masonic Service begins at 4 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Ave. in Sioux Falls.
A committal service is at 10 a.m. Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Leonard Lewis Stahl was born Nov. 23, 1933, in Dempster to Garrett and Susie (Hector) Stahl.
He was raised on a farm near Estelline and attended rural grade school. He moved to California as a young man.
On Sept. 25, 1955, he married Hazel Hjellming in Lynwood, Calif. He served in the US Army from 1956 – 1958, and in the Army Reserve until 1962. After serving in the Army, they moved to Sioux Falls.
Leonard was a member of First Lutheran Church, Minnehaha Lodge No. 5 A.F. & A.M and Sioux Falls Valley Scottish Rite. He enjoyed spending time with family, bowling, golf and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel; children, Debra (Kevin) Nelson, Gregory Stahl and Jeffery (Catherine) Stahl; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Ching; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Carl; Sisters, Gladys Amundson and Gertrude Leemhius; and son, Rodney.
