Support for Back 2 School Project appreciated
The Brookings County Back 2 School Project had its annual school supply give away on Aug. 9.
A total of 550 children in Brookings County received the supplies needed for school, giving them the opportunity to begin the school year on equal footing with all classmates. Backpacks, dental supplies and a voucher for shoes were also given to the children. While children picked out their supplies, parents were able to visit over a dozen vendors that give support to children and families in Brookings County. Supplies are still available for any child still needing them through their school counselor.
The Back 2 School Project would not be able to provide this service if it wasn’t for the generosity of the many community members, organizations and businesses that contribute to this project. Special thanks go out to the many volunteers and resource programs that helped on the day of the event. Thank you also to the following contributors to the 2023 Back 2 School Project:
