Lincoln boys blank Brookings

BROOKINGS – Carson Woods scored twice to lead Sioux Falls Lincoln to a 2-0 nonconference win over the Bobcats during boys’ soccer action on a steamy Thursday evening at Fishback.

Woods scored off an assist from Daniel David 2:55 into the match.

He added a goal on a free kick from the top of the box in the 59th minute.

Cameron Downey made six saves to earn the shutout win in goal for the Patriots (2-2-3).

Lincoln outshot Brookings 17-11, including 13-6 on goal.

The Bobcats’ Zander Larson stopped 11 shots.

Brookings (1-4) is host to Brandon Valley on Monday at 6 p.m.
