Lois Watson, age 89, of Brookings, passed away at home from natural causes on Monday, March 30, 2020.  Due to the current corona pandemic, memorial services will be held once public gatherings are allowed. Burial will be in Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis, SD.  Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  

Lois M. Watson was born on May 2, 1930, in Hand County, SD, the daughter of William and Mamie (DeGeest) Labor.  She graduated high school in 1948.  Lois was united in marriage to Floyd Dee Watson on December 17, 1950, in Mitchell, SD.  She continued her education and graduated in 1951, from Dakota Wesleyan where she received her RN degree.  

After Dee returned from the military, they started farming in Davidson County, SD.  In 1957, they moved to Martin, SD, and in 1961, they moved to Tyndall, SD, where she worked at the Good Samaritan Home and was the Head Nurse at the Hospital. 

In 1976, the couple moved to Brookings where Lois was employed for 12 years at SDSU in Student Health. 

 Lois was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brookings and Chapter P.E.O.  She enjoyed sewing, woodworking with Dee, reading, and handiwork.

 Survivors include her husband, Dee Watson of Brookings; children, Michael (Rebecca) Watson of Sturgis, SD, Curtis (Ellen) Watson of Green Bay, WI, Susan (Scott) Starling of Monticello, Florida, and Kelly (Tami) Watson of Brookings; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Diane) Labor of Rapid City, and one sister, Donna Trentz of Deadwood, SD, one sister in law, Cathy Labor, and two brothers in law, Herman Boner and Paul Reeder. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Labor, one sister Charlotte Boner, one brother in law, Charles Trentz and one sister in law, Mary Lou Reeder.
