Lorenie Art “Griz” Miller, 70, of Brookings, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017.
A time of sharing service is at 11 a.m. Friday at Rude’s Funeral Home in Brookings. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of sharing. Rude’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Lorenie married Barbara Booton on March 22, 2006 in Las Vegas. They made their home in Brookings.
Lorenie loved to cook, and friends and family loved to eat whatever he made. He built bird houses, gun cases and shoe closets as well as other wooden special requests. His dry humor and quick wit will be remembered forever. After four years in the Air Force he worked various construction jobs throughout the Midwest.
Lorenie is survived by his wife, Barbara of Brookings; his sons, David (Molly) Miller and Dusty Miller both of Mankato, Minnesota and Neal Brokaw of Illinois; a daughter, Joy Miller of Minneapolis; a step-son, Matthew Booton of Brookings; step-daughter, Samantha Booton Williamson of Brookings; a brother, Wayne Miller of Persia, Iowa; three nephews and a niece.
He was preceded death in by sister, Anna Mae Schaffer; brother, Larry and a niece, Virginia Martens.
