Loretta M. Nelson, 66, of Sioux Falls, died Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Sanford University and Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau. Burial is in Union Cemetery in Flandreau. Visitation is Monday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
Loretta was born Aug. 30, 1950, in Flandreau, to Carl and Emily (Kroeger) Nelson. She was educated in Flandreau and moved with her family to Sioux Falls. Loretta worked in housekeeping for several businesses and was a janitor at Sioux Falls Lincoln High School. She worked for many years at American Western and then worked at Ravens in Sioux Falls until retiring due to ill health.
Loretta enjoyed fishing, car shows, the races at Huset’s, the yearly fireworks show in Flandreau and monster truck shows.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tina Nelson and Holly Miles, both of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; three sisters, Ruth Ann Anderson of Sioux Falls, Linda (Kelly) Egan of Renner and Doris Sporer of Valley Springs and Kenneth (Dot) Nelson, Sioux Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Nelson and Oren and Emily Rossow.
