Lorraine A. Aune, 91, of Flandreau, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the Avera Flandreau Hospital. 

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday at the Second Presbyterian Church in Flandreau. Burial is in Union Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church. 

Lorraine was born Sept. 22, 1926, at Flandreau to William and Margaret (Duncan) Lettow. She was baptized May 8, 1927, at the Second Presbyterian Church and attended Littig and Dailey Moody County schools. Lorraine graduated from Flandreau High School in 1944. She worked at the Duncan Bakery and the Crystal Theatre. Lorraine was then employed at Council Oaks until it burned down and then worked at Red Owl until it closed. For seven years she worked at Billam’s Grocery Store in Flandreau. She moved to Sioux Falls and worked at Sunshine Grocery Store. 

Lorraine married Andor “Andy” Aune Feb. 1, 1962, at Salem. They made their home in the Baltic area and Lorraine worked for Spic & Span Cleaners and Davis Cleaners in Sioux Falls. Her husband died Dec. 16, 1996. She returned to Flandreau in 2012 and lived in Riverview Apartments until 2017, when she became a resident at Riverview Healthcare Community. Lorraine was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church and the VFW Auxiliary. 

Lorraine is survived by her brother Don, six nephews, three nieces and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Andy; infant son John and a sister-in-law Phyllis.
