Lou Ann Lemke, 77 of Brookings, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, in Sioux Falls.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church
She was born on Feb. 8, 1941, in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Louis Colonna and Stella Christianson. Lou Ann graduated the eighth grade from Bushnell School and attended high school in Brookings.
She married Clayton Lemke in Minnesota on May 6, 1961.
Lou Ann had various jobs through the years, including bartender, waitress, laundry mat attendant, and a professional house keeper. She loved finding a good deal at yard sales, flea markets, and thrift stores.
Lou Ann also enjoyed visiting with friends and family over coffee and cookies.
Lou Ann is survived by her children, Kim Compton of Brookings and Tim (Connie) Lemke of Bruce; her four grandchildren and a foster grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Lemke and one granddaughter, Nicole Compton.
Rude’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
