Lynx beat Bobcats 80-49

BROOKINGS – Brandon Valley shot 59.3 percent (32- of-54) from the field, hitting 13 3-pointers, during an 80-49 defeat of Brookings in an Eastern South Dakota Conference boys’ basketball game Friday night at Bob Jostad Gymnasium.

Cade Terveer dropped in a game-high 23 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists in 20-plus minutes of action for the Lynx. He went 9-of- 10 from the floor and hit all five of his 3-point attempts.

Caden Deckert hit five treys off the bench, totaling 15 points. Evan Talcott totaled 15 points and six boards.

Brandon Valley scored the first seven points and led 20-9 after a quarter, before pushing the margin to 38-20 at halftime. The Lynx shot a sizzling 65.4 percent (17-of-26) after the break.

Brookings shot 38.8 percent (19-of-49), including a 3-of-10 mark from long range.

Riley Schafer had 14 points, Trevor Woodall 11 and Drew Cole 10. Josh Sell tallied four markers and five rebounds.

Both teams return to action Tuesday as Brookings (2-3, 2-3) plays host to Aberdeen Central at 7 p.m. and Brandon Valley (4-3, 4-2) is host to Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
