EVERETT, Wash. – Former South Dakota State women’s basketball standout Macy Miller made her professional debut Wednesday night, coming off the bench for the WNBA’s Seattle Storm in a preseason exhibition game against the Phoenix Mercury.
A 6-foot guard, Miller played 12-plus minutes but was held scoreless. She was 0-for-3 from the field, while contributing an offensive rebound and assist. The defending WNBA champion Storm dropped an 87-84 decision to Phoenix.
Miller was the 36th overall – and final – selection in the WNBA Draft in April after leading the Jackrabbits to their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. A Mitchell native, Miller was honored as the Summit League Player of the Year during both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. Her 2,355 career points stand as SDSU and Summit League records.
