Madison beats Sioux Valley 13-1 in five innings

VOLGA – Tyler Toppe pitched a two-hitter and struck out eight batters in Madison’s 13-1, five-inning defeat of Sioux Valley in a high school baseball matchup Wednesday evening at Hoff Field.

The Bulldogs managed just four hits but took advantage of 14 free passes, including 11 walks, and five Cossack errors.

Evan Appolvick had two RBIs and scored three times. Oakley Denne scored four runs and Josh Giles three.

Sioux Valley’s Carson Christopherson had an RBI single in the opening inning.
