BROOKINGS – A man was arrested after he allegedly exposed himself to a witness Thursday, according to the Brookings Police.
The incident was reported approximately 12:55 p.m. Thursday and occurred at the intersection of Eighth Avenue South and Third Street South, Lt. Marci Gebers said.
Benjamin Shay, 24, of Estelline, was arrested
“Our officer, upon arrival, spoke with the reporting party, who said Mr. Shay was yelling and making threats and then he was walking into the roadway and exposing his genitals to him,” Gebers said.
“The officer attempted to stop Mr. Shay, who was trying to walk away from him. He failed to comply with verbal commands,” Gebers said.
“Eventually Mr. Shay did stop walking and complied with the commands and he was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and public indecency,” Gebers said.
Shay was transported to the Brookings County Detention Center.
