BROOKINGS – A Brookings man self-reported he’d been hit by a train Friday morning, according to Brookings Police.
The incident was reported shortly before 5:45 a.m. Friday, Assistant Chief Derrick Powers said.
“This occurred between Main and Medary” while the man was walking along the tracks, Powers said.
“The individual who was hit called,” Powers said, adding he was a 29-year-old Brookings resident.
An ambulance responded, along with police officers and the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office
“He was transported to the Brookings ER and, I think, later transported to Sioux Falls,” Powers said.
“I don’t have any further information at this point,” Powers said.
