Marilyn R. Robbins, 63, of Brookings, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at her home in Brookings.
Memorial services are from 2 to 5 p.m. on Aug. 19, at the Heritage Apartments Community Room 609 Heritage Drive in Brookings. Rude’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Marilyn R. Brown was born Feb. 7, 1955, in Canby Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Bekaert) Brown. She attended Astoria Public School graduating in 1973.
Marilyn served her country for 10 years in the United States Army from 1973 to 1983 when she was honorably discharged. She married John Robbins in Astoria on Sept. 19, 1981. They had two children, Jennifer and Michael Robbins.
Marilyn was employed at SDSU for 15 years, retiring in 2015.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, John Robbins; son, Michael (Erin Sullivan) Robbins; two children; her mother, Clara (Bekaert) Brown; brother, Jim (Mary (Zencius) Brown and sister, Cindy (Lonnie) Robish.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Frank Brown, and her daughter, Jennifer Robbins.
