BROOKINGS – Medary Elementary School was burglarized and electronics were stolen, according to Brookings Police.
“We were called there by a school official,” Assistant Chief Derrick Powers said.
The report was filed shortly before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and occurred in the 700 block of Fifth Street South, he added.
“At this point, this matter remains under investigation,” he said. “The suspect has been identified.”
“It was reported that on more than one occasion over the last month, an individual or individuals had entered the building and taken electronic equipment, which included iPads,” Powers said.
“There were no signs of forced entry,” he said, adding that there was “no estimate of loss in regard to the property” taken.
