• The annual meeting of the Brookings County Historical Society will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Brookings County Historical Museum in Volga.

Monday, Oct. 14

• The Brookings Toastmasters Club 3712 meets every Monday, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Mission Coffeehouse in the Eastside Room at First Lutheran Church. Visitors are welcome. The club provides an opportunity to learn public speaking skills, as well as to meet businessmen and businesswomen from the Brookings area. Info: 690-3824.

• Together Strong Cancer Support Team meetings are a safe, trusted environment for participants to process the emotional, spiritual, physical, and relational changes that may occur with a diagnosis of cancer. Participants will have the opportunity to openly share and discuss concerns, apprehensions, questions and losses that arise from a past or present experience with cancer. Meetings are open to patients, survivors, family, friends, caregivers and health care workers and are held the second Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room A at Brookings Hospital. • The Brookings County American Legion will hold its monthy meeting at the Volga Community Center on Monday Oct. 14. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. A short program and lunch will follow the meeting. All Brookings County Legionaires are encouraged to attend the meeting,

• A regular meeting of American Legion Auxiliary unit 88 will be held at McKnight Hall in White, on Oct. 14, at 2:30 p.m.  The topic is education/scholarship.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

• Brookings Rotary Club – noon, Brookings Activity Center.

• New Beginnings Baby Café supports breastfeeding mothers in every aspect of nursing, from starting to weaning and every variation in between. It is facilitated by two registered nurses who are also IBCLC lactation consultants. All pregnant and breastfeeding moms are welcome to attend. New Beginnings Baby Café occurs every Tuesday night from 5 to 7 p.m. in the New Beginnings Family Room on the OB unit.

• Join Court St. Agnes No. 618 of the Catholic Daughters every third Tuesday of the month at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. • Weight Watchers Reimag-ined  meets at 12:15 and 5:15 p.m., at Comfort Suites at 925 25th Ave. (just north of Runnings), Weigh-ins start one half hour before the meeting.
