Michael Lee Blumeyer, 62, of Estelline, died  Sunday, March 25, 2018, at his home surrounded by family. 

A memorial visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline.

Mike, or Blu as known by friends, was born May 28, 1955, in Estelline. He was raised in Estelline by his paternal grandparents, John and Alvina Blumeyer and foster parents, Ray and Hazel Nelson. He moved to Montana to join Job Core. While there, he received his GED. After completion, Mike moved back to his home in Estelline. While working construction in Huron, he met his wife Dee. They were united in marriage on May 18, 1979. They had three daughters, Elizabeth, Donna and Debi. Mike lived for 38 years in his home in Dempster.

 Through the years, Mike enjoyed working on cars, hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his four grandchildren and socializing with all his friends. His favorite of all hobbies was teaching his grandchildren to fish.

 Mike is survived by his wife Dee; his daughters, Elizabeth (Richard) of Estelline, Donna (Luis) of Reno, Nevada, and Debi (Doug) of Watertown; his four grandchildren; his aunt Janis of Estelline and a host of other family and relatives.

 Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Alvina; his father, Donald, foster parents, Ray and Hazel; his aunt Joy and uncle, Raymond.
