Michelle R. Myers-Stephens, 45, of Elkton, passed away Sept. 22, 2019, at her home in Elkton after a long illness. Michelle was born Sept. 24, 1973, at Brookings to Steven and Vikkie (Moser) Myers. 

She received her education in Elkton, graduating from Elkton High School in 1991. She attended Northern State College in Aberdeen and then the University of North Dakota in Fargo. Michelle married Owen Kelsch in 1994 and later divorced.  She lived in Brookings, and worked at Advance and moved to Kyle, TX, where she worked at Fecare in Seguin, TX. 

Michelle found her soul mate Shayne Stephens in 2005 and they moved to Elkton in 2009. She worked at the Elkton Municipal until 2011 when she retired due to ill health. Michelle enjoyed arts and crafts, and painting with her kids. She had a big heart, a big smile and loved her family, friends and community. 

Michelle is survived by her soul mate Shayne Stephens, three children, Siana Jolie Myers, Sioux Falls; Bresha Shonique Stephens, Brookings; Savion Shakur Stephens, at home; her parents Steve and Vikkie Myers, Elkton; two siblings, Kris (Bob) Haarsma, London, KY and Nicholas (Melissa) Myers, Elkton. Michelle was preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard and Helen Myers, Julius and Lillian Moser and three cousins, Tina and Matt Biggar and Josh Myers.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2019 at United Parish of Elkton with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Elkton. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Elkton.
